I shot this in July 2010 in Berlin near the Brandenburg Gate. Note the awesome hippy that starts jammin' about halfway through.

Milton Friedman - Where Are We Going
Buena música, excelente película... aunque no es exactamente como sucedió pero honor a los valientes que lucharon y entregaron sus vidas en ambos bandos
One vacation or another, I'm actually going to make it down to San Juan Hill with the brown dungarees and slouch hat and the blue blouse and blast this on a loop out of mini speakers in my pockets while I walk up it.
This was a great movie. My favorite performance by Tom Berenger and one of my favorite performances by Sam Elliott in what is my favorite movie by John Milius. A terrific movie done in the old fashioned Hollywood sort of way, but also done in the way of an old-fashioned Western. Something that John Ford might have done. It gets a little schmaltzy here and there, sure, but it's a great movie. And this soundtrack is amazing.
A great soundtrack to a grand movie
Tom Berenger did such a great job in this movie, hell even Gary Busey was good in this movie!
Awesome theme!
The waning days of purely American values and the old west only to be matched when we rolled onto ww2 and shover our boot up hitlers ass
A Great Movie.
"My troops! You will advance by rushes! CHARGE!!!!!!"
could someone post the dulcimer chords for this?
you could try it in dorian DAG, theres really only two chords dm and c, or use a noter starting on the 4th fret. In DAG , Dm is fret 6 on the melody the rest open,,the C chord is, 3 on the melody and bass and 4 on the middle..the right hand strum is where the fun is..
Aubrey Atwater does a great class on the dorian scale
I am typically not a fan of training montages in films - yet the training montage to which this song goes to is absolutely epic
This is a song that lol get your ass up in the morning. I imagine Teddy Roosevelt standing over me and yelling “REVEILLE!!! Get your ass out of bed and assemble!” 👍🏼👌🏼
"This day is ours, it will never be forgotten, NEVER!"
Just thought I’d come and listen to this given what we’ve been seeing out of Cuba lately.
Teddy Roosevelt, John Pershing, many great commanders.
2:04 Every hair on my body stands up whenever I hear that chord
Great piece of music! Matches the soul of the movie.
I wish I could go back in time and shake teddys hand. He seemed like an incredible man
Police commissioner of the NYPD, governor of the state of New York, commanding officer of the 1st. USV cavalry, recipient of the Medal of Honor and President of the United States....yup, one HELL of an American. I grew up on Long Island and visited Sagamore Hill and his grave many times...I too wished I could have met him....
@@sethkimmel7312 unlike current politicians, he said many wise things and did even more impressive deeds. Created the national parks, the Panama Canal. He was wealthy yet he pushed for labor reform and broke up the trusts and big banks. He denounced greed and over industrialization , he was a hunter but urged for conservation and environmental protection. Yeah he is probably my favorite president
They still study his Naval History of The War of 1812 at Annapolis to this very day...
Oops forgot recipient of the noble peace prize for brokering the peace deal that ended the Russo Japanese war
@@zyzor Yeah he's like if Trump was smart and actually got anything done.
Morning come and Maria's gone Morning come and Maria's gone Morning come and Maria's gone And it's ear-lie in the morning Oh she's gone and I can't go Oh she's gone and I can't go Oh she's gone and I can't go And it's ear-lie in the morning Morning come and Maria's gone Morning come and Maria's gone Morning come and Maria's gone And it's ear-lie in the morning Never could I know her mind Never could I know her mind Never could I know her mind And it's ear-lie in the morning Morning come and Maria's gone Morning come and Maria's gone Morning come and Maria's gone And it's ear-lie in the morning Trouble, trouble, is my name Trouble, trouble, is my name Trouble, trouble, is my name And it's ear-lie in the morning Morning come and Maria's gone Morning come and Maria's gone Morning come and Maria's gone And it's ear-lie in the morning
0:44 Just puts the biggest smile on my face and makes me feel like a child playing with my Lego cowboys back in the day
God Bless America!
@😍❤️
this is the best, i listen to this every time i play red dead online
Same
It seems like the sort of thing one would feel right after the death of someone loved but difficult, and the grief and unanswerable questions that follow for years.
love this movie. I cannot believe I missed it when it originally aired.
Me too... It is so beautiful and matches what is going on in the movie so well.
Such beautiful and powerful music for what was an extrarodinary movie.
Due to sam Elliotts character being killed. Nash went on seeking payback and bombed sam city in his A6 intruder.
I love that... bringing The Flight of the Intruder" into this. That was another great movie and I forgot he played in it.
This gives me happiness.
2:00...beautiful
This kinda reminds me of something you’d hear in Toy Story
I love it
I watched the movie a couple days ago. WHY THE FUCK IS THE MOVIE NOT TALKED ABOUT MORE?! Sure the movie is very heavily romanticized, and really historically inaccurate, but damn is it a fun ride. The acting is top notch, Tom Berenger blew me away with his portrayal of Roosevelt. He steals every scene he is in. The guy is like the Daniel Day Lewis of historical movies, every role I’ve seen him in is spot on. Why isn’t this guy given more roles? Gary Buesy is icing on the cake (I didn’t even know Joe Wheeler was even still alive during the Spanish American war) Admittedly I know little to nothing about this conflict, really only the bare basics, so maybe that’s why I can forgive some of the glaring inaccuracies presented in this movie. (Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe I read somewhere that the Buffalo soldiers played a much bigger role at San Juan Hill than what was shown in the film. Didn’t they already take the Hill when the Rough Riders charged up it?) I was surprised to find out that Elmer Bernstein did the score ( I thought he was dead by 1997, but I guess not) he always adds a great score to any movie. I guess you know a movie has done something right if I want to do research and learn more about the conflict. I view the film as sort of a last American western, one last blaze of “cowboy” glory before we enter a century of modernization. (Yes I know that we were modernizing in the decades after the civil war, but I digress) I loved the hell out of this movie, really shame people don’t talk about or have even heard of this film. Id give it a 9/10 (very surprising considering my friends view me as a tough as nails critic)
I think Gettysburg is a great film, certainly the best civil war movie ever made, and it is hardly mentioned. And after being a fan of Gettysburg, I would put Rough Riders, even less mentioned in cinema history, right next to it. the music is fantastic. They will never make another movie like it again. I agree with you that Tom Berenger is great in every role. I wished he was in more movies and they made even more historical films. He is in the battle of the Bulge. If you haven't seen it check it out. A friend of mine wants to watch Rough Riders. He has a big projector, like a mini theater. Will be fun watching it (again).
I dit not know that about the Buffalo soldiers. I didn't think they were involved.
Why isn't this movie getting a blu ray remaster and reissue?
"It's alright Colonel, it's alright." "It will never be the same." (Camera pans up to the American flag and the word "Empire" on the water tower.) America's first step onto the world stage
It also said sugar. Keeping the question of “what were they fighting for” alive.
I liked this film because it was dedicated to mightiest soldier in the world - the citizen solider !!!🇺🇸🇺🇸
TNT used to have a lot of great history movies; (Rough Riders, Nuremberg, Gettysburg, Man who captured Eichman) Why don't they make more? Bring back my history movies!
I 100% agree with you Alex Black. TNT did indeed have good history movies.
I think a lot of that was Ted Turner because I know in the behind the scenes of Gettysburg he talks about it some and has a cameo in the movie. I don't know if he still runs that company though and hasn't retired.
it's amazing for people in Florida to not know the history of the Rough Riders, 120 years ago now Theodore Roosevelt Rough Riders went through Tampa that is one of those amazing things about Tampa I did not know and think a great man at went through State of Florida, but now you look at Florida and Seminole Heights in area now it's ghettos Ville . is very sad but if you look up what it used to be it will make you very proud to live in Florida. that would be so cool to meet you don't know as well in person when he came hundred and twenty years ago there Florida.
Erick Lundquist This film needs to be talked about more.
All of these are awesome
yes they are
I agree with all of you. I adore anyone who has the slightest urge to even lay eyes on the cover. You guys are amazing (so is the movie). I thought I was the only who has watched it. And Joseph Ledoux, I am jealous.
The best regiment in US history.
wfp5007 well... One of the greatest. my greatgrandfather was a roughrider and later with the 7th Cavalry in the PI. He was my inspiration to be assigned to the 2d BN 7th Cav. served as Platoon Leader, S2 and Company commander. GARRY OWEN
wfp5007 one of the best.... yes. Premier example of the citizen soldier. My great grandfather was a roughrider. Best regiment ever.... depends on longevity.... if that is the standard yes. If not.... One of many of the best.
it has been a hundred twenty years since Theodore Roosevelt and his Rough Riders went through Tampa Florida it's hard to believe it's been so long I always thought it would be cool to meet Theodore's know when he went through Tampa Florida in the 1898, the cool part is I live in Florida and I'm always surrounded by the history but the sad part is where Roosevelt trained his troops in 1898 was woods now it's the bad part of town but that's way history always goes
I will continue to hope that we will see another Teddy Roosevelt. Angel Fire Memorial, Semper Fidelis.
Great film much like Gettysburg
I love this great movie.
love this movie
this song is an inspirational song that will help me defeat isis
